Welcome to the
Monterey Peninsula Choral Society
The Monterey Peninsula Choral Society is a very user-friendly group, both for our chorus members (you needn’t audition to join us) and for our audiences (we like to mix it up in terms of program offerings, with something for everyone). Above, we’re formal for our Christmas 2008 concert at Carmel Mission; below, much more laid back at our Spring 2009 concert Broadway Love at Hidden Valley.
There’s so much wonderful music to be heard in the Monterey/Carmel region that our Director has developed a knack for finding ways we can stand out from the crowd.
For one thing, rather than traditional music, our concert selections are very eclectic, multi-cultural, and non-traditional. It’s not that we don’t love traditional music—it’s that we like to be a bit different.
For another thing, we’re more than just a collection of people who get together once a week to sing. We’ve become an extended family whose activities and interests go beyond singing. So even if you’re not a singer, there are many ways you can become a part of our group and enjoy the benefits of working and playing with a diverse, talented, warm group of people.
